OC: Guardian of the Hivoll Seas

This is something I've been thinking about for a while, wanting to add more supernatural creatures to my fantasy setting. This is one of the nymphs, magical creatures that usually take on the forms of strange giant women. They are the first users of magic, some using the arcane crafts to protect their home, some using them as benevolent (well, mostly ambivalent) gods to humans, while some would subject humans to their magical prowess.

In this case, this nymph is considered a guardian of the sea near Garminé's homeplace, and often receives tribute from sailors for safe passage.

Little note on her design that might not be entirely clear here... that purple thing is beating like a heart, and the red things coming out of her shell are little somewhat chitinous legs. What do you think of this design? It's a bit different from what I usually draw.
